Derby based International contemporary lace artist developing designs from traditional bobbin lacemaking techniques, specialising in the English laces of Bedfordshire and Bucks Point lace.

Historically the function of lace was to make the wearer feel good about themselves and Louise continues to develop this ethos by using traditional techniques to create new contemporary lace. She also uses this approach when teaching locally, nationally and internationally, passing on the wide range of knowledge in traditional techniques while developing contemporary designs.

Louise teaches lacemaking in her Ilkeston (Derbyshire) based studio and various other locations by arrangement. Regular lace classes available in Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and her 3 published books have reached lacemakers across the world. Online classes are available also through the Lace Museum, California.

Additionally Louise has developed the digital process including laser cutting, to produce 'Ready to Work' lace patterns which mean lacemakers can buy accurate patterns with the holes and markings ready to work on card. Patterns available from October 2018.
