Delighted to receive the news that students nomination for the Marsh Heritage Crafts Trainer award 2017 has resulted in Louise being selected as one of the three finalists. Louise will attend the annual HCA conference, London in May for the presentation of certificates and to find out the winner of the award. "It is a great honour to be a finalist and a huge thank you to the students who nominated me for the award"
The HCA promote traditional crafts in the UK and support professional makers working in this area. Many of the crafts are on the Radcliffe Red list of endangered crafts and this will be discussed at the conference this year.
Louise has received a nomination for the International Arts and Crafts Design Awards 2016 and is now featured on the website - acd-award.com These awards feature artists, designers and crafts people from all over the world and Louise feels very privileged to be included in the listings.
The results will be announced in January 2017.
Craft and Design Selected Maker Finalist 2016
12th April 2016
On 1st April 2016 an email was received "We're delighted to let you know that you are a Finalist in the Textiles & Needlecrafts category of our 2016 Selected Maker Awards - congratulations!"
I am thrilled to have got through to the finals with such a talented group of artists in the Textile category. I hope that seeing the lace in the Craft and Design magazine will inspire others to have a go at this enthralling craft. Final results for the Gold and two silver awards, and the overall winner are expected at the beginning of May. Thank you to all my supporters for voting.
Craft and Design 'Selected' Gallery
18th November 2015
Louise is now featured on the Craft and Design Magazine website, Selected gallery.
This is part of their annual Selected makers awards, and voting will be open from January, allowing the public to vote on their favourites.
From 1st March 2015 the business will be based at Friargate Studios, Ford St, Derby.
This move is to open up the workshops to more people, specifically disabled, as the new studio is now on the ground floor. This is something that I have been striving to achieve since the business started and has now been achieved. The new premises are modern and warm and fully disabled accessible.
