On 23rd June 2012, I received this award for a piece of Bucks Point lace, at the Nottinghamshire Bobbin Lace Society Summer Lace Day.
The award is given annually at the summer lace day and voted for by members attending the event.
David Hirst was a dedicated supporter of the society and the trophy was donated in his memory, to the group after his unexpected death in 2007.
'I was very surprised to receive the award, and felt emotional at receiving the award which was in memory of my late Father. I think he would have approved of the piece of lace I submitted this year.'

'Study, Design and Create' exhibition
1st February 2012
My 'Blackthorn Reborn' was selected for this exhibition at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Durham and forms part of the exhibition by members of the 98 Lace Group.
The work was inspired by a collection of 18th century lappets, selected from the Blackbourne collection by the Bowes museum for the group to work from.
The exhibition runs between 28th January and 15th April 2012.
It is anticipated that the exhibition will move to the Nuneaton and Dudley museum later in the year.
